Gathering

We just spent the morning at our neighboring apple ranch and we came back loaded with goodies.

We love going to visit our neighbors. Their place is on the river and super lush. We’ll often cut weeds, fish, collect wild greens, pick apples, gather tree cuttings. No matter what time of the year, we always come home with something and it is usually something that they don’t use and wish us to get rid of for them. What a great relationship!

Today, we got some mint, a bag of peaches, a crate of apples for us, and a couple of bags of windfall apples for the animals (have to take the seeds out for rabbits). It’s great to supply part of your animals’ input with other people’s waste, it just adds to the efficiency of Food Web.
