Apple Juice

We used the crate of apples we recently collected to make almost three gallons of delicious juice.

We have the parts and plans to make an apple grinder that will make very short work of rendering whole apples into pulp. However, we haven’t had a chance to build it yet, so we cut the apples into chunks and then ran them through our meat grinder. We then pressed the pulp with the press we made last year (for full instructions on how to make a press, click here).

The result was a little under three gallons. We kept one gallon in the fridge (which is almost gone now – it’s just too good), and froze the rest.
